{diary} l u x e out the closet

I have too many shoes…

A closet fact.

Point in case, a forgotten pair of Lanvin strappy sandals were found languishing in Boo’s boudoir last week. Beneath all Boo’s poly cotton onesies –  a gleaming pair of satin open toe pumps peeped out.

Enough is enough..

They’ve been strapped to my ankles ever since – loyal l u x e

and I just can’t let this happen again. They need a l u x e lodge.

I’ve garnered some support from Mr. Luxe, threatening to donate his space taking Mod vinyl collection to Dog’s trust. It worked.

And initially, he made all the right noises, suggesting I catalogue my collection into seasons. Think he thought he was buying time.

So I did.

Then he threw a curve ball with the ridiculous idea that I dispose of my much coveted shoe boxes.

Not happening.

And then I had an ingenious idea – a closet compromise.

The kids are going on display. I’m thinking; a colour coded, cabinet cocooned, showboat of all my favourite sandals.

Boxes can bunk out in the cellar – once bubble wrapped obvs.

So Thursday night, I began pinteresting and Mr. Luxe set on the elle deco mags like a rabied dog – Boo slept.

We’ve decided we need a vintage something or other;

Maybe mid-century

With glass fronted panels

Plus room for  ‘Choo’ spares.

L u x e complex? It is.

To get the ball rolling,  I’ve insisted we spend the bank-holiday near more vintage rich pickings.  So we’re booked for an easter egg gorging, wine gulping, vintage cabinet hunting weekend up in Shoreditch.

Watch this space.

[OFFICIAL DISCLAIMER] As my collection is – let’s be honest – predominantly darker tones, I’ll probably need to source a few more pairs – colours – to make the cabinet aesthetically more cohesive.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
