I think it’s about time I stopped beating about the bush and gave THESE boots the airtime they deserve.

Yep, these pony-skin paw protectors seem to be getting way more insta-love/follower action whenever they leap out the box. This either means A. I can’t dress for toffee so peeps are homing in on the good stuff or B. these boots were a bloody good buy and need a little luxe credit.

We’re going with B in case you were wondering.

.

Before I go any further: A word on the pony breed flat and pointy. Feet WILL appear longer than they actually are. Just ‘pointing’ this out now because I do have the smallest feet in the first world – luxe exaggeration but you get the idea! Larger footed luxers  (you know who you are) should steer clear. There’s a plethora of pumps and ‘drilles ready to steady the paddles. Current faves here and here

.

So back to these boots. ones we – read him! – paid full whack for last December. I’d spied them online, played footsie with them in store then dispatched trusty courier (Mr. Luxe) to go hunt them down in London Town and bring me back the ponies.

And unlike nearly everything else I got for Christmas, these booties are putting up a good fight for the Summer top spot. And I think I know why.

Leopard print. It’s the sun to my sartorial solar system. I was wearing leopard in the womb (maybe not) but my first baby grow was definitely pebble-dashed with spots I’m sure. It’s the print equivalent of breton – the colour palette least likely to offend ANYONE. This print is an expiry date free zone.

Points win prizes. For the fashion show ponies, points scored big last season – biker boot du jour Chloe Susanna was on the paws of all the pros. Toga pulla kept the ball rolling with a less credit crushing buckler, but as a committed print fancier, it was Louboutin and these Miu Miu’s that kept me at the pointy party. And, in a new season twist, pre-fall point scorers should look to the LOAFER as the must-shoe for Autumm. Luxe loafers? Luxe pointy? Love it.

Now I’m still convinced these boots have enough staying power to keep me in paw-fash-action for the foreseeable.
