There was always room for another trench.
You knew it, I knew it. I’m pretty certain Forever 21 knew it.
And when they invited me to choose some favourite pieces from their new Spring collection, a sort of pastel-hued haze of excitement came over me. Quickly followed by an internet scour of their website.
The way I see it, high-street fast fashion should only be attempted online or early morning. So with two hours and a triple threat skinny cap under my belt, I made like Alice and tumbled took the lift down the flagship rabbit hole.
And I was right, early birding the rails I had my pick of the finest summer threads. Freshly folded denims next to thankfully colour coded cottons, a nice touch when you’re in the depths of a coffee coma I thought.
Consider the facts:
Super swishy trench, a key player. She’ll be spring/summer striker in my sartorial line-up. Light and silky enough to roll away midday, an evening sheath when the sun sets.
The perfect suede short, clearly a nod to the Chloe runway and a skilful starter for the transitionally challenged.
Then paired together with THE classic staple, a clean white top with billowy appeal. The sandals, simple, and oh-so-tan-hued enough for just about any stage of my working panetone complexion.
If Oxford Street’s the player, Forever 21’s the coach.
