I’m winter ready. Officially. I’ve abandoned autumn… And all it’s fine-knit fair-weather wear. I’ve hurled myself straight into a wardrobe fit for a mini break to Moscow. Layers of luxe is my mantra. And lots of them!
It’s good news for Mr. Luxe who suffers dearly when I complain I’ve nothing to wear (it’s a lady thing, I’m not the only one, you know who you are). Not so great for Mr. Lloyd’s who’s probably wondering when I’ll begin investing in my rainy day fund.
I did. It’s a Burberry mac. And I love it.
After a v indulgent summer of colour clashing and pattern pummeling I’ll be heading back to black. I’ve filled 2 whole storage chests full of rainbow maxi’s and i’m going colour cold turkey.
Maybe the odd draw on a caramel hue will see me through?! Can’t promise it won’t #fashaddict …ahem #newcoat
I started the winter ball rolling in June. P’interesting thigh high boots and cashmere coats. A visual mood board appeals to Mr. Luxe’s creative tendancies…
But more importantly to his P.A. She knows I love surprises… especially the ones I pre-select. Shopping’s my sport so I leave nothing to chance…
Anyway, I read somewhere…”Couples that workout together stay together..”
This time of year I like us to workout at Westfield; and after 1 bicep busting Bicester run mid-August, and 2 disagreements over why I definitely don’t have enough Isabel Marant for my liking, we’ve stock piled enough chunky knit sweaters and leather cuffed loveliness to deck out a small country.
This weekend was my official ‘winter luxe’ launch so I laid out my quota of investment sweaters and chic tees like a Beverley Hills housewife (minus the Filipino maid). Boo fills the void.
My winter wardrobe is ready to be unleashed.
Think Fifty shades of… ‘the simple life’?!
Black, white and all things in between will be my safe place. Accessories will remain fierce – if it’s not broke don’t switch it!
So first to the post was this simple ensemble; I paired a Mr. Luxe favourite ‘Russell and Hodge’ white shirt with some Wolford scaffolding and suitably sky high over the knee Choo’s. Monochrome went out – dancing with Motherluxe…
Day 2: Working through my hangover and well into the swing of winter things – I used my extra 15 minutes in bed to whip up this little number.
My latest bad-boy coat of camel candy – courtesy of Zara. Not black or white but so so right! (An AW/13 coat that isn’t pink … who knew?!) I paired it with my latest Cos heavy-knit sweater and my beloved Cos boyfriend jeans.
Cos why not!
Luxed up with Louboutin’s – no Sunday should be without the saintly Christian!
Keeping things simple (but super luxe obvs) my accessories this winter are nothing new:
I’ll be staying warm in a v v fabulous ‘Yves Saloman fox fur stole’!!!!
And keeping cool with my collection of Balenciaga bag swag.
Baguette, that’s for best…
Slogan tee’s and graphic sweats are good company for my faithful wool mini’s and J brand’s. I might even order some tartan tights and dye my hair orange. Until then this is where you’ll find me. Til SS/14.
Only Céline and a tricolour trapeze can part me from my pedestal… Luxe you reading this!?!
