I lined up this squad the night before.
Organised? Really? This paragon of vestiary virtue is a new one to me, I much prefer waking in a panic, flinging clothes in all directions and force-feeding J with an arsenal of stuff-that-needs-ironing MAYBE NOT.
But in a night-before smug-affair…. An edgy little get-up comprising the A-Team came together.
A-rail as it happens. Constantly at the fore-front of my mind and J’s ironing duties, threads employed to keeping it simple, feeling super comfortable and rocking chic without trying.
The latter btw doesn’t come naturally to me.
That fine art of looking perfectly imperfect, casually elegant BASICALLY PARISIAN – it’s a work in progress.
Only recently, I was grilled in an interview about my personal style, in defeat I admitted the source of my latest sartorial algorithym, an A-team of flattering basics I’m convinced we all need in our life. The boyfriend blazer, the crisp cotton shirt, the perfect fit jean and teamed with gently beaten-to-a-pulp accesories like my long serving Balenciaga.
The risqué elements like the un-buttoned and un-tucked shirt, the peekaboo lace bralette and the crumpled sleeve-roll are the styling tricks to practice. Trust me this looking un-done business, it’s a full-time job.
