A couple of months back I had an amazing opportunity to collaborate with SWAROVSKI.
We teamed up in London and then Paris over fashion weeks to shoot my favourite pieces, showcase my style and encourage you to Share Your Sparkle. Their collection has a great range of daytime delicates and plenty of eye-catching statements.
But one special piece in particular caught my eye.
The Duo Heart small pendant, designed with Miranda Kerr.
It’s a serious contender for my most favourite piece ever, and for so many reasons. First and foremost because the subtle mix of metals make it a versatile piece to style up. I love that the red crystal details on the chain create plenty of sparkle.
But it’s the Duo Heart symbols that for me hold a special meaning.
They’re symbols of a sort. For the love I share with my mum. I like to think having her symbolically hanging – like a rose toned heart resting on my chest – makes me feel close to her and in safe hands. Does it matter that she only lives down the road? She’s the yin to my yang, the rose tones to my twinkly crystal pavé. We’re essentially opposites in most aspects of our lives. But we love each other to bits and she gets me, even when I don’t get myself.
Ever since fashion week, SWAROVSKI and most definitely my Duo Heart pendant have been pretty much a daily detail to my outfit.
I’ve made it a Christmas Wish this year that on Christmas Day I’ll spend it with mum eating chocolates and watching old movies while J cooks the lunch. Fingers crossed.
