Racing to fashion month…
And mindful of the umpteen ‘editor-approved’, ‘fall-trend’, ‘foundation-essential’ lists currently doing the digital influencer circus circuit.
I wanted to put my favourites out there:
Kind of a wish list (and already on the credit card list) if you will of pieces to buy/wear/love/live-in through autumn and winter. Those new Bal’s Mr. Luxe got me for my birthday prove my theory – buy now or regret later.
One. The houndstooth tweed print.
I spied sassy off-the-shoulder Storets number and screamed at the computer in excitement. Yep love that e-store a lot! And with so much love for heritage in fashion right now, houndstooth print is on my radar. So now i’ve got my eye on an Isabel Marant blazer in the same print, this Isa Arfen treasure now on sale and more…
I think a print like this partnered up to denim and staple classics (white tee, nude vest, leather mini, silk cami) is the easiest way to inject something which feels so relevant into an existing wardrobe.
Two. The top handle bag.
I spent a lot of time searching for a top handle bag that I knew would be versatile. My Meli Melo Allegra comes with a detachable strap so I get two styles I suppose. Though what I love about this style (and colour) is how such a formal accessory can amp up casual denim.
Best of top handle bags:
Three. The vintage reworked denim.
Oh Re/Done have really stolen my heart and my disposable income this summer. They take vintage Levis apart at the seams and repurpose the fabric into one of a kind heritage denim perfection. Each pair is different so yup, finding my first pair was a labour of love down at the holy Selfridges temple. Since then I’ve ordered two more pairs online and we haven’t looked back.
Vintage denims I’m obsessed with (not all are Re/Done promise)
Four. The must-have mule AKA Cinderella slipper.
I went to Chanel after rosé o’clock with Mr. Luxe and the rest is history. Seriously though this style is well worth a punt – great for day-to-night, fun to wear and plenty of similar styles on the high-street (just don’t mention that last bit to him).
